I have been served, have filed my answer and have a court date in a month. Its a credit card debt from two years ago and isnt sol. I dont know if people understand my question completely. Say MBNA is the OC, they sell to Sherman. You have MBNA on CR saying charged off, you have Sherman on CR saying you owe xxx dollars. When you go settle with Sherman , you demand in the settlement a zero balance, a dismissal, and a deletion of tradeline, you get it all in writing. My question is when you go to get a mortgage next year and they still see the OC reporting it as a charge off cause you settled with the CA who deleted their entry. How do or will they know that that account was actually settled when you got the CA to delete their tradeline?? It makes no sense? Would a copy of the settlement agreement with the acct number of the MBNA card on it be good enough. I know you should never settle with JDBs, but in the instance where you settled a lot of debt in the past, and dont want that money to go to waste ( i borrowed from others to pay non charged off debt) and you will have the cash in future for a mortgage soon, how can you make this miserable mess the cleanest possible. Please just dont tell me to tell the CA to screw off , since I dont want to go bankrupt and I want all these accounts settled legally so I can get a mortgage soon. Thanks.
