The CA got a default judgement , i wanted to avoid paying twice what i owed so settled for a lesser amount and they dismissed with prejudice........all the paperwork has the OC listed as the plaintiff and also as the one that would accept that amount as settlement. the check was made out to the OC and shows the payment on the cr.......but am i really screwed for the balance? How can they do that if the paperwork has the oc named as the one accepting the payment amount?
i did this once before years ago when we bought our house.......did it the same way with a CA and there was no problem......i just assumed this would go the same way.
