Interpret that to mean, "We don't have jack-squat, but that doesn't mean we won't let the defendant sweat it until the next trial date, hoping they'll cave-in from the stress."

Don't worry....I let *them* sweat. I didn't talk to them or correspond with them in any way. They're hoping that 1) you'll roll over and approach them for a settlement or 2) they'll put another trial date on the docket and hope you'll chicken out and allow them a default.
