no. the CA who is assigned out of the original company is a 3rd party collector. some debt buyers try to tell you they are not a collectors but buyers. the states have ruled a debt buyer is still a 3rd party collector. dunno where the 3rd comes in...they are just called that. all will be called 3rd party collectors. just a term. lol. 3rd party is used to differeniate between original company and CA. no 3rd in it, really. could easily be called..2nd. bottom line..original company..they have their own in-house collectors..then send it out to a "third" diff company to collect..then sell it to a debt buyer. make sense? ok, now im confused. LOL. any collector who is not the original company is a 3rd party collector. whether bought or assigned.
