Why Chat, I understand that the issue was raising rates when the insured hadn't done anything to justify being placed at a higher rate. But I assure you that that is EXCACTLY what is being done by both State Farm and Allstate (from my own experience and knowledge of the two companies) on a regular basis. :(

You can have a perfectly clean drivers record, live in a low-crime, low-claim area, have been insured by the company for 28 years straight, and still get your rates jacked up based on your credit rating. Certainly happened to me!

Allstate is the only one involved in a class-action suit, though, as far as I know.
