Was it your medical treatment? Did you sign the form saying you would be responsible for paying what the insurance didn't? Were you married to the insured when the treatment was received? A word of advise, if it is your debt, make arrangements to pay the provider before it goes to a CA, you may need medical treatment from that provider again and if it happens to be a privately owned medical facility, they can refuse to treat you.
