No, but they try anyway! I have three of them on my CR right now that I am having to threaten lawsuits against the CA's and the CRA's to get off. Two of them I was never aware of because they were opened by my ex-husband after the divorce was finalized. (That's fraud, but claiming fraud doesn't get it off your credit report very quickly, I assure you.)

You need to dispute the account as "not mine" with the CRA's first. If it comes off, fine. If it doesn't, then you need to dispute it with the CA. Don't be discouraged. It may take a while to straighten out the mess, but eventually it will all come out in the wash.
