I don't think the mispelling of the name will hold much water. However, debt buyers, generally cannot validate anything if you challenge them. I think most are looking for a default judgement when they file. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection, and some people will pay when they are actually served. CAs look for that to happen. It probably does happen a lot that people who previously would not voluntarily pay, will voluntarily pay once they are served and don't know their legal rights. Just my two cents. The CA does not want to go to court. Probably knows that he can not win if you defend.
