do you have a house or rent? The biggest thing with Chapter 7 is you can't buy a house for 2 years. If you own one or can wait, get bankruptized, what the hell. Yes it stays on for 10 years, so what? The point is you can start rebuilding your credit almost immediately afterwads and your credit score can go to low 600s soon enough - within 18 months or so. Why drag feet, settle and pay. It will still ruin your score and rating further and cost you money.
