If a collection agency is harrassing you about a bad check 8 YEARS later, the DA isn't going to know the thing ever existed. Regardless, the SOL has long expired, leave it alone unless you want a new derog on your credit report (and they ARE likely to paste it to your reports). Send the CA WhyChat's Notification of SOL letter and make them go away, there's nothing they can do.
