Update on my case with Midland

I just got off the phone with the court. I called to make sure that my DV/dispute letter was attached to my case file, and to make sure the court date and time was still on for tomorrow. She informed me that it was changed to the third week in August, unfortunately I will be on vacation, so the court instructed me to write a letter saying I could not make that date and it would be rescheduled. I am breathing a small sigh of relief as I was afraid I would have to go tomorrow and did not feel ready as far as having my documentation ready for the court. Midland still has not validated, but I know they got my DV letter on 7/8 and their scum lawyers on 7/6. I will enjoy myself on my vacation and will go to the free legal clinic in my town, I should qualify since I am on unermployment, and have someone ready to go with me if this suit really does happen. I guess I just wait now and see if I get validation info from Midland and hope it is insuffcient and then go to court with my case law. I am going to write a letter to the court now so that I can get that August date changed. I pray Midland ends up withdrawing. Thanks for everyone's help so far I truly appreciate it and I am so glad I stumbled on this board. I took my first two finals exams for my first semester of my paralegal classes and I think I did pretty well, I have 2 more in about 3 weeks for the summer semester. In the fall I will be taking Consumer Law, mainly as a result of this experience. Maybe some day I can help others here as you all have helped me.
