I'm here to tell you that those sobs will find a way around the cease and desist letters. They've called my parents who live in another state, left them a phone # & rep name, sometimes a file #, occasionally the name of the company. It's bad enough to be in debt but to have them calling up your relatives is going too far especially since the whole mess is supposed to be your personal business. In my case they call my relatives before they call me despite having my phone number supposedly in their file. I've sent the cease & desist letters once I get their address but apparently these don't "transfer" or count as notice to the next CA the account is transferred. Is there anyway to make a cease and desist letter universal so you don't have to keep mailing the same letter to 5 different CAs representing the same account?
