as usual,,,debt collector is out to lunch. we are a community property state. they are calling to collect the debt. if you settle..get in writing as paid in full...not settled..and be very careful or they will sell the diff on to another CA. our SOL is 4 years..when were they charged off? eventually the companies sell the debts for pennies on the dollar. the debts will be on your CR for 7 years..but after 4 in texas they can not sue and win a judgement , if you fight it. im sorry about your husband. i would say did he have a estate and all that but it sounds like he didnt and it went to you, so that idea is out on probating a will. good luck to ya.
