They can do this, and this has been done to me in the past. They don't care if your on the street after they end up destroying your bank account. Now you see why we at this forum regard them as scum! If your wages are automatically deposited into this account then I do believe they would have to attain a wage garnishment vice their bank freezing order. If you have military retirement and or SSN money going in the account automatically then this would be exempt at least in my state it was. Call a consumer attorney and get a free consultation regarding this misdeed done to you. The Consumer Attorney I got for this exact scenario, took my case on a contingency basis. I owed him money back out of what they took from me, but it was well worth the venture.
