in my experience (not too long ago actually) I went thru a "settlement" company (if you'd call em that I have other choice words) that also promised that calls would stop and then in another paragraph they state they cannot guarantee calls will stop. what the ? anyway, they will tell you that you may get sued faster- its a tatic that was tried on me but i was to p.o'ed w/ em to care. you may or may not get sued just depends. in our situation we went to our atty and asked him questions and defin. got out of the program. altho they are still trying to w/draw money from acct! we also went thru a christian place like cccs but little better, but we are still stuck w/ huge imo debt (35K cc's and 1 unsec. loan).
anyway, good luck in whatever you decide to do.
btw checking bbb isn't always as helpful as one may think (co. we went thru settlement had satis. rating and then all of sudden was unsatis. and now satis. again) just be careful.
