One question. Does your credit report show an unpaid collection account? Even though you paid it, the collection agency may not have updated the listing to reflect the paid status. If that is the case, I can see why they are refusing you a student loan. However, if that is not the case, then I can't understand why they are being anal about one account unless you have no other credit.
