We did not sign a contract with the CA. Pretty simple. AND don't even talk to me about car dealers!! Yes, I do consider car dealers to be thieves. I avoid them like the plague. I think I wait for the sales, and check out the clearance rack. I think the difference between the car dealer and the merchant and the CA is that the car dealer (well sort of) puts the figures in front of the buyer in black and white, and the price tag states the price to be paid. The credit card companies put everything in legal language, small print, on the back of the application......The CA buys debt for pennies on the dollar and then continues to add high interest (if he can get away with it) and trys to collect. Lies to the consumer, telling them they are getting a great deal if they can convince him that paying 2K on a 3K debt which was only 1K to begin with is a good deal. I think that is robbery. Credit card agreements are drawn up by professionals. AND, unfortunately given to the average citizen who doesn't really understand what he is signing. YES, I Know I am responsible for what I sign. HOWEVER, there is a lot of psychology used in the credit card promotions, so most of us are blinded by the great deals they offer (until they get your signature) We are not professional accounts or psychologists.
