I would like to ask something. Are these calls related to personal accounts or to business accounts. Collections involving businesses accounts or those accounts of sole proprietorships or partnerships are business accounts and the rules governing business collections are not governed by FDCPA. In this case, it is best that you report this behavior to the partner whose account it is and to the attorney handling their business. If he called you at home and threatened you or your mom with public embarrasment to try and force her to pay a company debt without the authorization of the partner, then it is a form of extortion. Especially if he threatened her. SHe needs to file a complaint with the police department for extortion and with the local DA. Business collections are a totally different ballgame than consumer collections.
