...and the mess I guess I've made. Wow, this site is so full of great advice I could have used over the past few years. But I'm so confused at this point, any help would be so appreciated.
Ok, my credit is pretty bad. Back in '96 I had brain tumor and divorce. A few credit cards were paid, at least one was "bought off"-settled for less. I had a Fleet personal loan, one of those checks in the mail, sign it and deposit kind of loan. The original amount was $5,000. I'd paid off 2k when I hit trouble, and tried to make smaller payments but they sent me to collection. MLTW collection agency took over for Fleet, put my account back up to $6000 for fees and charges. Since '97-98 I've been paying at least $50/month on it faithfully, and the account is down to 4700k. Yippee. Do I have a prayer of telling them to stuff it at this point, or is the SOL now started with my last payment for 10 years? Thanks so much, I'm sorry this is so long. I'll keep looking for the answer in the archives, also.
