I remember reading earlier that a Canadian firm could not collect, or was it bring suit, in the U.S. Here is an article of another Canadian company coming south to wreck havoc. What do we need to watch for? What are their limitations, if any? -- Thanks in advance, + + + + + Toronto firm bringing 200 jobs to Arizona CenterBy Mike Padgett The Business Journal of Phoenix Updated: 8:00 p.m. ET July 11, 2004 One of Arizona Center's newest and largest tenants is Collectcorp Inc., a Toronto-based debt-collection company that works throughout North America. advertisement The company is opening a new regional office in former restaurant space on the second floor at Arizona Center with the expectation of employing 200 people. After considering traditional office space, Collectcorp executives chose the Arizona Center because of its downtown Phoenix location and access to parking as well as restaurants, said Phil Breidenbach, a senior vice president at Colliers International who brokered the lease. Collectcorp officials could not be reached for comment. The company is leasing 22,000 square feet on the second floor, and there are talks about another 4,000 square feet next door, said Arizona Center General Manager Christine Hands. Hands said work is under way on the space, which is scheduled for completion by late August. "They will start out with about 150 employees and go up to 200," she said. Until the new offices are ready, Collectcorp has about 70 employees working in temporary offices on the third floor of One Arizona Center. © 2004 The Business Journal of Phoenix
