Child support arrears are now entered on the delinquent parent's credit report. They are court ordered to begin with and there is no separate judgement needed to place it on their report, it is done by administrative order. Your brother in law needs to contact Child Support Enforcement, or whatever they call it in his state and talk to someone there. If his Credit Report has the case number on it, he will need to give that number to them, but they can use his SS#. If they can't match his name and SS# with the case number, they will remove the entry. But be warned,IF he does have a child support arrears and the error is just the wrong address, he will be leading them right to his door, and they can be quite testy.
