to all the new people posting tonight ALOT of regulars are not on tonight & from SOME of the posts im reading seems like some mis information is being givin on some of the forum posts .. this is really is great site for credit questions & correct answers so in my opinion id scroll down thru some of the older posts this month AND even thru the past months arcives as im sure you'll get a pretty good answer or idea's to some of your basic questions .. some basic answers - NEVER talk to any bill collection people on the phone period NEVER , if you must only thru the mail .. no matter what collectors tell you once the accounts reached YOUR states statue of limitations ( SOL ) you NO LONGER OWE on the account , under law the accounts legally uncollectable .. can the creditors still sue you ?? YES of course they can simply becouse anyone can sue anyone but once the accounts passed the SOL you have a 100 % legal defense & by law the judge must throw it out of court meaning you win & the creditor loses .. remember debt collection co's calling you on the phone LIE LIE LIE , DO NOT believe what they tell you becouse their # 1 goal is their commission so they get paid they DO NOT CARE about you so DO NOT believe their lies as their pro's at scaring people via the phone so take their weapon of choice outta their hands by controlling your phone , take back control of your phone w caller id .. of course we all should pay our bills thats a no brainer but when the account passes the said states SOL debt collectors are breaking the law by attempting to con naive people that do not know the laws or their legal rights by attempting to collect on legally by law uncollectable debts , once they do that in my opinion collectors are no better than a mugger trying to rob money by gun or knife point in a dark alley , a crooks a crook period !! the regulars will be back tomorrow so good luck , kelly ........
