I have some friends who are realtors and lenders. They say that you might try using your credit line instead of your husband's, and use "Stated Income". I didn't have time to get a very detailed explanation, but the short was that with Stated Income you should be able to include your husbands income, but not his credit report. You might also try a different lender. Hope this helps.
