repoed car

my car was repoed a few yrs back ithink the statue of limitation has come & gone. then collection agency started calling me wanting money.they told me there is a suit file against me in the state of pa pending & if i didn't want to go to court i had to give them $600..I told them i don't have the money so the ca said we will see you in court the papers will be served to you at work. They said they called my job & they had someone page me but i didn't answer(day off).Meanwhile i had already pd a couple of payments before it got to this point. They started calling more & more and finally told them i was going bankrupt the lady got so mad she hung up on me,then called me back same day & told me they were going to contest the bankruptcy & the statue of limitation doesn't matter anymore because i made payments.then she puts a man on the phone he tels me the samething that they will be there to contest my BR.So if this happens what happens to my situation?Do i still owe the money & can i file BR he also told me i would have to pay all intrested,late fee ect from "91" instead of oweing $4,00. I'll owe $11,00.Is this true? Would it be wise to go to a BR lawyer and will that work for me & stop everything? I won NOTHING what can happen to me?When ever i ask for some type of paper work on this matter the girl tells me they are not obligated to send me monthly statements,& if there were a lawsuit pending on me wouldn't i get something in the mail? When i ask her how long she had this in the ca she told me sence "91" i bought the car in "95".Someone told me if this ca bought the loan does that make it open again & fair game to collect? Boy this sure is a mess & the calls still coming only when they get my answer machine they hang up & their number is blocked.Any advise i would love to hear it all.
