My fellow Tennesseans - STOP freaking out - chill !

TN does NOT allow pre-judgment freeze or levy on bank accounts !

Still Nervous - if your name is on NOTHING then they scumbag CA's take NOTHING. TN doesn't have the greatest exemptions, but they're not too bad either - enought to protect what you DO have, inf anything, in your name. Stressing out over a moronic CA's stupid threats is pointless because that is ALL they are. They WANT to freak you out - don't let them get to you !

The only thing they might be able to do to you is garnish your wages if you work. We're stuck with a long 6-year SOL in TN, but its not an eternity.

Kiko - If you think that a lawsuit is REALLY imminent - meaning you've heard from a LOCAL lawyer and you owe Discover or Crap1 a lot of money. Get your name OFF the joint account and open your own if you need to. As for Joint Assets, only 1/2 of the value would be considered 'yours' and you would apply the exemptions to your HALF - again, likely there's not a thing that could be taken from you IF you lost a lawsuit.

Consider the source of these calls and don't let them rattle you. By getting all stressed out you let them WIN ! IGNORE THEM, do NOT answer the phone ! There is NO LAW that says you have to talk to these dirtbag collectors so don't!
