chargeoff v bankruptcy???

I had a bankruptcy in 1998 and all accounts were cleared out (I believe it was Chapter 13). When I got a recent credit report, it shows one of the accounts that was included in the BK as being a "charge off". I've been told that if I filed it as part of the bankruptcy and it was approved and discharged, it cannot be listed as a chargeoff now. It never was before...just on my latest credit report for some reason. I'm worried because from what I know, a 'charge off' is one of the worst things to have on your report. It also means that they can try to pursue me for the funds. Am I right? Thanks!
