If the DOLA is before 01/1998, ( as it is in your case)That is the chargeoff date. Back before the new FCRA rules and FDIC rules, some creditors kept delinquent accounts on their books for as long as a year before charging them off. Anything charged off after 01/1998 had to be reported to the CRA with the INITIAL delinquency date that preceded the chargeoff.
