Lynn, I am also a NC resident. You do realize that in NC the original creditor has only 3 years to legally come after you and make you pay your debt. From the dates you gave you are FAR BEYOND the NC 3 SOL! Do order your credit report and check it out. DO NOT PAY if you do not have to, NC is an extremely debtor friendly state and remember also 7 years from the date you first defaulted it will all come off of your credit report by law and that date is not far from it!
