Hi all,
I used to have a Fleet visa card, which expired two months ago. I did not have any balance on the card, in fact I hardly ever used the card. Last month I received a letter from the law office of larry roach, saying I owe some debt to CACV of Colorado, LLC in the amount of ~$400. The original creditor is written as Fleet Bank. The letter basically says "You owe this much to CACV of Colorado and we are to collect this debt. If you notify us in writing, we will obtain verification of debt or a copy of a judgement against you. Please call our office immediately." I did not have any balance on my Fleet Card, so I was pretty surprised. Then I searched for CACV of Colorado on the web and found this site. I am pretty new at these things. I have heard horror stories on companies creating debt and sueing you on the ficitional debt, but this is the first time it is happening to me. How would you guys recommend I should proceed?
Thanks a lot for any advice.
