Well, you might be able to have the judgement vacated based on imporper service. That depends on how it was served. Do you know. Were you aware that you were served?
Here is a link, go the New Jersey, see if you were legally served according to New Jersey law. If you were legally served, and did not show up to defend.....then I don't know of anything you can do about it. Maybe somebody else will have an idea. Thing is, had you answered the law suit and defended, you probably could have had the case dismissed. The only other thing I can think of is SOL? Was the debt within the SOL?
