I'm in the same boat as you...cards charged off 3 and 4 years ago, the debts are not forgiven when sold to a CA, they are written off by the original creditor as a tax write off, then the parasitical scum CA's get their mitts on your account and pay a few cents for it, then hound you for the rest as for the 1099c the forgiveness has to be a mutual agreement between you and the CA for a specific amount....play it cool...you are probably past the SOL so dont worry....
