I need advice on a paid in full student loan as of Dec. 13, 1993. The school apparently went defunct and sold records to a collection agency. They did not keep their records updated and showed my loan as unpaid. I have all paperwork proving this was paid in full. In 1999 I had to prove my case that it was paid to a collection agency. Thinking it was taken care of, I have now received another letter from a collection agency trying to do the same thing, again. Since this has been over 10 years now, do I still need to prove again that this loan was paid, and do they have any right to put this false info. on my credit report. If I do prove again to this collection agency that it was paid, in five years from now will a different agency contact me?? I have no idea what to do and it seems so time consuming that I have to prove "again" this was paid. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Helena
