North Carolina is a tenants by the entirety state. That means that they can not touch your house. They have a 3500 wild card exemption. STOP THE DIRECT DEPOSIT. These people are slime, don't believe ANYTHING THEY SAY. DON'T TRUST THEM FOR A NEW YORK SECOND. THEY WILL TAKE YOU TO THE CLEANERS.
Here's the thing....I think your best shot is IDIVIDUAL BK FOR YOUR HUSBAND. He can file bk, all of your things will be exempt. You are in a perfect situation for him to file individual. Based on the bk, you can have the judgement vacated. Why pay Sherman, who paid pennies on the dollar for you account thousands of dollars. Once your husband files bk, they can not touch you, and doing so is a federal offense. Honestly, this is probably your best option.

I am in Pa. and I was sued, Pa is also a Tenants by the Entirety state, and I was able to file individual bankrupcy. I live in a nice house, I have all the normal stuff, multiple TVs and DVDs. You know, just what most people have. AND IT WAS ALL EXEMPT IN BK. Your husband can file dividual bk, and get rid of this judgement, along with any other debt he might have. Bk is a fresh start, and he can start to rebuild his credit almost immediately after his discharge. And, yes, the bk will stay on file for 10 years, but honestly, it's not the big black mark anymore that it was years ago. Millions are seeking bk protection these days. It was the best thing I did. It just put a stop to all the worries and stress. Just think about it.
AND GET THE MONEY OUT OF THE BANK. IT IS NOT SAFE!!
