Within SOL? Skip validation, send C&D. Be sure to say they can contact you in writing anytime. CA doot-flies automatically sue upon receipt of C&D letter, when told to cease all forms of communication. Assume consumer has no intention of paying. Make it clear they can always communicate in writing. You leave them an option, put them on notice that you know your rights and will defend them.
