I worked for a collection Law Firm and have been in collections for some time. The FDCPA clearly states that the only way a collection agency or Law Firm is legally able to contact a neighbor is if they DO NOT have a working phone # or address to reach you on. If they have already been contacting you at home and you ignore their calls, then they turn around and contact your neighbors, that is construed as harrassment and you are able to sue them under violations of the FDCPA. If this is the case, I would contact a qualified FDCPA attorney.
