my husband has a default judgement on his credit report.the company sent the summon to the state of mississippi when he has been residing in tx for 5 years.the company even had his current tx address however they sent it to another state and when he wasnt there to answer it,they had a warrant for his arrest.the amount is for 771,however they are also reporting the same account again for more and will not settle for the 771.my question is if they had the current tx address, how do they file the judgement in another state?I also thought that since the the judgement was filed in norfolk,va..do they actually expect for us to travel all the way there for a court hearing,i mean isnt it a law somewhere about undue hardship?when requested for the company to send a copy of the contract, they sent a computer generated form with all the payments and dates all out of order.can someone advise me of how to handle this situation for we are trying to purchase a new home and this might be the very thing to ruin us,thanks
