I'm in Central Illinois and was repeatedly told that the state statutes were written before credit cards were widely used so there is nothing on the books that clearly declares their status. It is so hard to find lawyers here who are well-versed in consumer laws. I have done a lot of research and believe that certain newer statues at least IMPLY that credit cards are open accounts. Thanks for relating your positive experience.
