Sherman Acquistion

I have the same problem too. few months back i pulled up a report to apply for house loan. the report show that I owe $750, opened 1998, and collection agency is Sherman Acquistion. i called them, they said, that was from Montgomery Ward. But i know i did not owe anything from Montgomery ward. My credit is very good before. I paid in full every bills i recevied. i never had any problem applying credit card. suddently it dropped from 700 to 596 because of Sherman Acquistion. I couldn't contact montgomery because they're out of business. Sherman refused to take off that collectione and they're threaten to increase it if i don't pay it off. PLEASE HELP, I NEED TO have my credit back. i don't know what to do anymore. i need to get the house loan with a reasonable rate. with a score of 596, i can't do anything.
