Tennessee is a TENANTS BY THE ENTIRETY STATE. As long as the house is in both of your names, and the debt is in your name alone....they can not touch your house.

They can garnish your paycheck. They can seize bank accounts. Protect your banking info now. Get a new bank in your wife as primary, or maybe in her name only if you really want to play it safe.

Here is a link to the Tennessee garnishment info. You will have to scroll way down to Tennessee. You do have a 6 year SOL in Tennessee, but when was the last time you paid the original creditor before the account became deliquent. Make sure the debt is within the SOL.
