WhyChat, I've been reading through your website and the links you have on there. On one of them, I found something that said not to bother trying to correct a charged-off account unless you can dispute it completely and get it removed. So should I bother with the Sherman Acq./Providian entries I have that have not been updated to reflect that I paid it off? It is still within SOL which expires in Jan. Should I wait until then to do anything? It is paid off and I have a letter from a third CA stating so. But according to that other website I was looking at, trying to have an entry like that updated is useless. Opinion?

Second question - In your reply to my question about a duplicate entry on a charge off with expired SOL, you said to "Dispute them as not mine, no such accounts for these dates with this creditor for this amounts and these 3 are duplicated accounts." What happens if they can verify? They certainly won't be able to verify the duplicate entry but what about the original and the one collection account? They are out of SOL so even if verified, the info should just sit there, right? Nothing can be changed?

Thanks for all your help!
