Will be having SOL on several accounts coming up very soon. I understand (I live in Pennsylvania) that the 4 yr. SOL is the first delinquency of the account and that this can be determined by the first time that a late payment fee is noted on billing statement from the OC. I've kept my original billing statements from 4 years ago, and I've noted that the date the OC has as the charge-off date is a month longer than what it should be according to my statements. For example, last payment was on Aug. 10, 2001. On the Sept. billing statement appears the first late charge and this continues to appear on the next 5 billing statements. According to my calculations, the 180 days for charge-off would have been Feb. 10, 2001 and not Mar. 10, 2001 as OC reported to CRA. It is essential that I have this question answered because I don't want to send a SOL letter out to the CA's handling these accounts until it is time to. I have flown under the radar of these CA's so far, and I don't want to mess things up at this point. Thanks.
