Kelly- I have three cards that were all charged off within the last two years. The most recent payment activity was between 1 and 2 years ago. One account was opened in VA over 10 years ago, the others in TX 3 to 5 years ago. I live in TX. The SOL in TX is 4 years I believe. I DO want to pay these debts off, but not to the collection agencies. I am wondering how I can go around the CA and deal directly with the OC to pay the debt in a lump sum while having them reflect it as Paid as Agreed on my CR, not as Paid Charge Off. I don't believe CA has authority to do this, only OC. Personally I believe if it within your means to pay, you should pay. If it is absolutely not withing your means to pay, that's where the law should protect you. In my case, these debts would remain negative on the CR for another 5 to 6 years. If I can pay them off, why not have the OC change my CR to show that I did pay it?

Thanks, Frank
