Since the account was only charged off in January, the account is still within the SOL. If you ask for validation, you may be inviting a lawsuit. It would help if we knew what state you live in. You can always find out from the OC if the account has been assigned or sold to a CA. You do not want to call the CA.....they'll think you're fair game and begin their tirade of threats and intimidation to get you to pay.
