I've had 2 accounts (Bk 1 & MBNA) turned over to them both of which are noted in my credit report as charged off so who exactly do they represent? The companies or do they buy up charged off accounts? And what authority do they have? I know for a fact they go the arbitration route cause I just got my second one. I tried to defend the 1st but they found against me despite my defense of unemployment due to a broken leg suffered just weeks before they sent the 1st arbitration notice. I didn't know I could refuse arbitration so I intend on sending the refusal this time but will it really make a difference and is there anything I can do about the one I lost back in January? I'm in Texas by the way.
