I'm not sure about a corporate retirement check but I do know that SS is exempt from garnishment. From what I understand, an OC or CA CAN NOT garnish in TX; however, some of the more ruthless CA's will go after your bank accounts.
You want to make sure that you keep your bank statements showing the SS deposits and the pension deposits....just in case. You might also want to open an account in one of your childrens' name as them being primary on the account and you and your husband could be authorized signors.
Are the debts still within SOL?
