According to Bud Hibbs, it is possible to deal directly with the OC even after a charge off. The problem is getting to talk to the right person, even as high as a VP or CFA. There will be tax implications of going this route since the OC would have already written off the bad debt. I was just wondering if anyone on this board has done this.
