You may have been paying MBNA internal collection,thereby delaying the chargeoff date, however technically they COULD have sued you for breach of contract back in 1997 when they froze your account.In any case, since the cause of action was over 7 years ago, and the original MBNA account is likely no longer on your credit reports,there is NO WAY anyone can win any lawsuit agains you.

Send them the SOL letter from my website, file a complaint on line with the FTC,your State AG office and the BBB, file a dispute with any reporting their garbage as follows, "Fraudulent entry,fraudulently re-aged from MBNA account # xx DOLA 01/1997 obsolete account".

Include copies of the FTC, AG and BBB complaints, and use the format of the follow up letter to CRA that follows the SOL letter.
