Put together all your bills with and without the CC's Ca's, etc. Make sure you put the extras on it too. Monthly allowance for your kids stuff, your stuff, etc. Groceries, church collection, entertainment, etc...EVERYTHING! How much do you really have left over after all the necessities are taken care of? My lawyer told me that with BK7 (like we did), they look to see if you can survive after all the "bad" things are out of the picture. My husband makes awesome money, because of that, I needed to quit my job a month before we filed BK just to be able to do it. Because with his income and mine, they would have laughed at us when filing. But with just his and after all the necessities, we just slide by. I don't think BK is for everyone and none of my family knows that we filed either because I'm embarrassed. But we had to do what we could and I got sick and tired borrowing from peter to pay paul. My minimum payments were outrageous!! The smallest one I had was $325 a month! Now my kids can eat normal meals because I'm not worried about paying off debt. Yes it is mine, but my life is more important to me. Good luck to you!
