I think manatiff sumed it up. If and when you get arbitration papers, don't ignore them. Send the refusal of arbitration letter. They probably will get their arbitration award anyway, but if that happens, and they sue, you will have proof that you refused arbitration. That will force them to either go away or sue you, give you your day in court. If you learn, by reading and asking questions here, you will be well prepared to defend yourself in court. If they do get a judgment, they can, probably garnish wages. However, that really isn't the best way to collect on a judgment because it costs money to file papers to garnish wages, they can only take a limited amount of money, state law applies, and varies.....and if you leave that job for any reason, they then must relocate your new employment and start the process all over again. BEST not to let them get a judgment because although you have very little they can take right now, judgments hang around for a long time, and your circumstances could change in the future. If push comes to shove, bk might be an option, especially if you have other debt.
