Does anyone know how a change of residence affects old credit card debt? I lived in California when the debt became deliquent in 1998-1999 and moved to Illinois in 2000.

Calif. has a statue of limitations on lawsuits of 4 yrs. while Ill. is 5 yrs.

I would think that the debt that became deliquent under Calif. law would not then be subject to lawsuit under Illinois law for an additional year. Or is it?
